Water Supply in Bhubaneswar
The water supply in the city is mostly maintained by the State P.H.E.D. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation provides water to certain area of the city and its outskirts that suffer from water scarcity. The P.H.E.D supplies water to the city daily through channelized pumps. Currently, the amount of water supplied to the entire city and certain outskirt villages by the P.H.E.D is about 220 ML. In the recent few years the Municipal Corporation of the city has deposited huge sum of money for the installation of hand pumps and tube wells all over the water scarce area in the city and its nearby area. The administrative body has further deposited another few lakhs of money for the repair of these hand pumps and tube wells. Several water treatment plants are located throughout the city that renders water to every home. With the joint collaboration of the P.H.E.D and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, the citizens of this city receive ample amount of water regularly.
